A glorious evening of exploration, inter-connection, education, sacred music and ritual wonderment—a dynamic new change in the way we have looked at Easter.
This service is based on Magdalene’s journey, sourced from the Bible, Gospel of Mary, A Course In Miracles, Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault book, The Meaning of Magdalene, the wisdom of Sophia and the Gnostic Liturgy. We discover in this closer look, Mary Magdalene’s critical role in the story. She truly is the Apostle to the Apostle, deserving to be restored and celebrated with our beautiful
Sermon by scholars and authors Dr. Marguerite Rigoglioso, Ph.D. who teach the Gospel of Mary, Visionary Messenger, Jan Cercone, R.N., M.A., along with Rev. Christy Michaels M.A., Dan Craig-morse M.A., Mellissa Patterson, Ph.D, Kayleen Asbo, Ph.D. who sings the Benedictine Chant attributed to Magdalene’s Ascension.
Together, we walk in her footsteps through a six-station ritual. We focus on her actions, her message and her role through a living ritual we experience for ourselves, what she has done starting with the anointing with spikenard flown in from Jerusalem.
All the while we are wrapped in beautiful sacred music of Christine Tulis, Bobbie Ellison and special guest singer Amikaeya Gaston who sang professionally in Jesus Christ Superstar, Sophia Songhealer and many more accompanied on piano by Jef Labes.
